Mateu was born in a small village in the Balearic islands before deciding to leave and start his journey on becoming an established artist within the electronic music scene. Moving to Barcelona after travelling the world, where he experienced and absorbed a multitude of diverse music cultures, he made the decision to improve his production skills and revisit his lifelong passion for music inherited from his father. “I’m lucky to have a musically gifted father who introduced me to ableton when I lost my focus on studying. From this moment I knew my place in this world would be within art and music industry, learning my craft to become an established musician” After attending Björk Digital, an “immersive” virtual reality exhibition by the Icelandic musician at Barcelona contemporaneous museum, Mutul became fascinated with art in varying forms. His music developed a more structured and personal groove, with a lens on tropical percussion and experimentation with vocals. Five progressive years in the studio has result Five progressive years in the studio has result- ed in a wealth of releases on leading deep and progressive house labels alongside globally established artists within the scene; Trndmsk, Kosa, Seven Villas Music, Sound Avenue, 3rd Avenue, Dream Culture and Deepstitched. “Direct contact with my inspirational artist Pablo Bolivar gave me motivation to spend time and money in this music world. I have to accept there are times of frustration with label submissions and gernal traction but this is part of being an artists, you have to accept the good times and the bad but always remain focussed”
